Who is David?
David Wright is a professional magician who performs in the greater Sacramento area. He has been performing magic most of his life. David enjoys performing for all ages. In recent years, he has gained local fame for his magic performances at children’s birthday parties. Using comedy, magic and creative energy, David keeps his audiences entertained the whole time. David is always a hit at all his shows.
With colorful props, musical accompaniment and a fresh and modern approach to magic, David ensures that children of all ages are entertained and amused throughout his performance. David mixes audience participation with illusion, mystery and surprise to achieve the perfect blend of entertainment. His skills provide a unique recipe for a great party.
David started performing magic when he was eight years old. At that time, his father took him to meet a small group of magician in Santa Rosa, California. From that moment on, David was hooked! Over the years, he has honed his magical skills by attending magician’s club meetings, lectures and national conventions. He has entered and competed in several competitions, winning first place at the Sacramento Magician’s Close-Up competitions in 2001 and 2004, and first place for Stand-Up Magic in 2002 and 2003.
David is currently the President of the Society of American Magicians (SAM) Assembly 72 and past President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Ring 192, both local chapters of international magic clubs. A respected leader of the Sacramento magic community, David promotes magical events throughout the greater Sacramento area. He is also a co-writer of a magician’s monthly newsletter which informs both amateur and professional magicians about the latest happenings in the area.
David is an accomplished
close-up magician with a vast and varied repertoire of performing magic in
front of the noses of his audience. David performs strolling magic at public
events like annual street fairs, picnic days and other special community events.
David also performs at many hotels and restaurants in the Sacramento area.
He performs magic because he wants to make people smile and enjoy life.
In addition, David teaches magic to young people at various schools and community centers in the Sacramento area. His classes are always educational and fun. Students learn self-confidence, poise, stage presence, as well as a full appreciation for the history and art of magic.
